How to get your visor sparkly clean

Posted by Inga Abed on

Like me you probably love bling apparel and accessories and chose one of Golfglam’s visor because your couldn’t resist its sparkle. But just like ordinary visors your visor will collect dirt, and all sorts of stains throughout it’s life. And golf visors will get dirty, especially their sweatband. Eventually you will face the problem of how to clean your visor. And you will curse each and every one of those gemstones that made you buy the visor in the first place.

So how do you clean a visor bling and how do you restore them to their former self without making them lose their shape or bling.

Here are some tips and best practice:

Hand-washing is really the best method to retain not only the rhinestones but also the color and shape of the visor. Mix warm water with a mild laundry detergent and use a soft brush to scrub soiled areas of the visor, such as on the sweatband. Use the brush to scrub the band and then blot with a clean white cloth dipped on water. Do not soak the visor in the water. Treat stubborn stains with a stain treatment. Allow the hat to air dry avoiding direct sunlight as this may cause colour fading.

Prevention is better than treatment: To prevent your clean visor from staining in future you can use a stain repellent.

To remove oily stains from hair products, lotion or body oils, sprinkle the stained area with cornstarch or talcum powder. Allow the powder to sit for several hours and then brush away with a soft brush.

I hope that these tips will help keep the sparkle of your visors. And if you get bored of your old visor why don’t you get yourself another one of Golfglam’s bling  visors. Click here for the latest collection.
